Down on the Farm: 05-08-2010

AAA The Salt Lake City Bees stung the Fresno Grizzlies 8-1:

Brett Pill- 1 for 3, 2B. BA= .312.
Tyler Graham- 2 for 4. BA= .538.
Eric Hacker- 4.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 1 K. ERA= 2.25.
Osiris Matos- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 2.40.

Buster Posey drove in the only Grizzlies run with a single. The Grizzlies committed 4 errors in the game, but only two of the Bees runs were unearned.

AA RIchmond Flying Squirrels topped the Harrisburg Senators 1-0:

Michael Ambort- 1 for 4, HR(1). BA= .188.
Darren Ford- 1 for 5, SB(7), Assist(Coon at 3B). BA= .242.
David Mixon- 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K's, GO/AO= 7/3. ERA= 2.27.
Tony Pena- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.56.

Ambort has to hit more consistently than this to be considered a prospect. He's battled through a ton of injuries. Ford shows of his tool box, but needs to get on base more. Mixon has been outstanding since joining the San Jose rotation late last year. He might be starting to demand attention as a MLB prospect. Tony Pena's conversion from shortstop to reliever continues to hum along.

High A High Desert Mavericks crushed the San Jose Giants 15-3:

Juan Perez- 1 for 4, HR(4). BA= .284.
Johnny Monell- 1 for 4, HR(4). BA= .238.
Ehire Adrianza- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .193.
Aaron King- 3.2 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 7.29.
David Quinowski- 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.75.
Jason Stoffel- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 8.64.

Monell is hitting .310 in his last 9 games with a HR in each of his last two and 3 in his last 5. Aaron King failed to build on his dominant previous appearance. Ironically, Stoffel was the only effective San Jose pitcher last night.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets smothered the Hagerstown Suns 11-1:

Chris Dominguez- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .273.
Tommy Joseph- 2 for 5, HR(6). BA= .231.
Hector Sanchez- 2 for 3, HR(1), BB. BA= .250.
Nick Liles- 3 for 4, 2B, 3B. BA= .348.

No Augusta pitcher went more than 3 IP. Dominguez is hitting .302 over his last 10 games, but has just 3 walks against 31 K's in 121 AB's so far this year. Sanchez' full line is .250/.333/.500. 6 of his 8 hits have been for extra bases in just 32 AB's so far. Liles is quietly having a good season.
