Around the League: 05-05-2010

With the win last night, the Giants moved into first place in the NL West by percentage points over San Diego who lost to the Rockies 6-5 in 12 innings. The Rockies even their record at 14-14, 3 games off the pace. The D'Backs lost to the Houston Astros 4-2 to fall a game behind the Rockies at 13-15. Meanwhile the Dogs continued their Choking ways as Chad Billingsley gave up 4 first inning runs and then the bullpen poured gas on the fire in the 8'th and 9'th innings. Final score 11-3. That puts the Dodgers at 11-16 5.5 games behind.

The Seattle Mariners were widely praised for their offseason moves, but things don't seem to be going well up north. Eric Byrnes has already been released. Then, Milton Bradley had yet another of his by now expected meltdowns. He struck out with the bases loaded, came back to the bench and started barking at the ump. Wakamatsu finally had enough and told him to knock it off. Milton got up saying "I'm out of here", or something to that effect, gathered up his gear and left the stadium, right in the middle of the game! The Mariners lost again last night to Tampa Bay 8-3 to drop their record to 11-16.
