AAA Sacramento River Cats downed the Fresno Grizzlies 4-1:
Brock Bond- 0 for 2, 2 BB. BA= .296. OBP= .402.
Kevin Pucetas- 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 3.76.
A QS for Pucetas who's ERA has steadily dropped since the disastrous start of the season. Bond was the only Grizzly to reach base twice.
AA Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Bowie Baysox 6-4:
Darren Ford- 1 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .250.
Brandon Crawford- 3 for 4, SF. BA= .239.
Clayton Tanner- 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 2.16.
Craig Whitaker- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.93.
Nice game for Crawford. Tanner has pitched well, but not quite dominating. Whitaker is getting batters out with more consistency.
High A Modesto Nuts topped the San Jose Giants 4-3:
Juan Perez- 1 for 4, 3B. BA= .324.
Ryan Lormand- 1 for 4, HR(1). BA= .318.
Kyle Nicholson- 7 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 4 K's, GO/AO= 13/4. ERA= 6.20.
David Quinowski- 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 2.35.
Nicholson is going to have to put together a lot of QS's to overcome a disastrous first start. Quinowski should be promoted soon if he keeps pitching well, although the Giants tend to keep pitchers coming off injury back a year.
The Hagerstown Suns burned the Augusta Greenjackets 5-4:
Evan Crawford- 2 for 4. BA= .212.
Ryan Cavan- 2 for 4. BA= .301.
Chris Dominguez- 1 for 4, 2B. BA= .260.
Chris Heston- 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 5.25.
Jose Casilla- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, GO/AO= 7/2. ERA= 1.93.
Second multihit game in a row for Crawford. Dominguez drove in 2 of the 4 runs with his double. Heston is scuffling after a sensational first couple of games. Casilla continues to keep the ball on the ground.
Around the Minors: Steve Strasburg is being promoted to AAA. Expect him in the majors around the first of June. Dodgers prospect Andrew Lambo was suspended 50 games for his second banned substance violation.

When do you think is a good time to pick up Strasburg for a fantasy team?
ReplyDeleteDepends on your team and how much you need the roster spot, how many bench spots your league allows, etc, but basically I'd pick him up now, especially if you are in a H2H league that has playoffs.
ReplyDeletestrasberg has a rider in his contract that only allows him to throw 100 innings this season
ReplyDeleteBacci, the Nationals have denied that Strasburg has an inning limit.
