Down on the Farm 7/6/2012

AAA  Sacramento River Cats crushed the Fresno Grizzlies 12-0:

Nothing to see here.

AA  Binghampton Mets defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 8-4:

Gary Brown(CF)- 2 for 5, 2B, HR(4).  BA= .275.
Russell Mitchell(3B)- 2 for 2.  BA= .266.
Mike Kickham(LHP)- 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 5 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 2.96.

Brown is hitting .372/.438/.651 over his last 10 games.  His BA progression by month is April- .227, May- .258, June- .284, July- .448.  He appears to be right no schedule with an anticipated adjustment to AA.

High A  Modesto Nuts downed the San Jose Giants 6-1:

Nothing to see here.

Low A  Augusta Greenjackets edged the Asheville Tourists 4-3:

Adalberto Mejia(LHP)- 7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 5 K's, GO/AO= 11/3.  ERA= 4.69.

Short Season  Salem-Keizer Volcanoes topped the Vancouver Canadians 5-3:

Matt Duffy(DH)- 2 for 5, 2B.  BA= .280.
Joseph Rapp(1B)- 2 for 5, 2B, HR(4).  BA= .250.
Dashenko Ricardo(C)- 1 for 5, HR(1).  BA= .400.
Stephen Yarrow(3B)- 2 for 4, 2B, 3B.  BA= .195.
Joan Gregorio(RHP)- 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.39.

Rookie AZL  Cubs pounded the Giants 10-3:

Mitch Delfino(3B)- 2 for 4, 2 2B.  BA= .222.
Leonardo Fuentes(DH)- 2 for 4, 2 2B.  BA= .103.
Shilo McCall(LF)- 2 for 4.  BA= .250.
Emmanuel DeJesus(LHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 3.38.

The Baby Giants used 9 pitchers in this game.  DeJesus is 18 yo and had a huge season in the DSL last year.

DSL  Yankees1 dominated the Giants 10-1:

Nicoll Parra(LF)- 0 for 1, 3 BB, SB(13).  BA= .242.

      Where Mejia is now, compared to the beginning of the season, has to be one of the most exciting stories in the Giants organization right now.

  2. I was going to mention Adalberto as well. It's great to have him back on track, and with him, Crick, Blackburn, and Stratton I feel much better about our minor league pitching. It's just too bad it's all in the low minors, but better that than not at all.
