AAA Game 1 Fresno Grizzlies edged the Colorado Springs Skysox 4-3:
Gillaspie(10), Linden(9), Ciriaco(1), Williams(8) all hit solo HR's.
Yusmeiro Petit(RHP)- 7 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.17.
Game 2 Fresno Grizzlies beat the Colorado Springs Skysox 9-1:
Conor Gillaspie(3B)- 2 for 4, 2B, HR(11). BA= .305.
Nick Noonan(SS)- 2 for 4, HR(8). BA= .308.
Juan Ciriaco(LF)- 1 for 4, HR(2). BA= .287.
Gillaspie and Ciriaco hit HR's in both games. Ciriaco is clearly an organizational player. Gillaspie seems like possibly a AAAA player.
AA Erie Seawolves beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 7-6:
Juan Perez(RF)- 2 for 3, HR(9), BB, SB(12). BA= .287.
Johnny Monell(C)- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .228.
High A San Jose Giants crushed the Modesto Nuts 8-3:
Carter Jurica(DH)- 1 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .287.
Joe Panik(SS)- 3 for 4, SF, SB(7). BA= .275.
Bobby Haney(2B)- 2 for 4. BA= .323.
Chris Lofton(LF)- 2 for 4. BA= .238.
I like Haney. He plays the game with a lot of intensity.
Low A Augusta Greenjackets smothered the Hickory Crawdads 7-1:
Jesus Galindo(CF)- 2 for 3, 2 BB, Assist(3B). BA= .234.
Jose Flores(2B)- 2 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .266.
Paul Davis(RHP)- 7 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.40.
Flores is strictly an organizational player. Galindo is hitting .342 over his last 10 games. Davis has just 12 BB in 82 IP and a 2.17 ERA over his last 10 appearances covering 45.2 IP,
Short Season Salem-Keizer Volcanoes topped the Eugene Emeralds 3-2:
Ryan Jones(2B)- 2 for 3, Sac. BA= .252.
Mac Williamson(DH)- 2 for 4, HR(1). BA= .280.
Lorenzo Mendoza(RHP)- 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 4.95.

hey guys tweet from andy baggerly says pending ownership approval Pence deal is in place.
ReplyDeleteTommy Joseph involved if it goes through. Deal from a position of strength. Still have hector and susac. Wonder who else is in the package. Nate, Burriss, Joseph, and a minor league pitcher?
ReplyDeleteWould hate to give up Joseph, but I believe Pence is under contract next year too, so it's more than just a rental.
DeleteI say give up Gary Brown for Pence instead of Tommy Joseph. Joseph has a higher ceiling and has pop. A singles hitter like Gary Brown can be found in free agency but pop hitters nowdays are very rare to find.
DeleteDont give up Brown at our park his speed will get him tons of triples and doubles plus he has more power than people give him credit for.
ReplyDeleteAgree..You don't give up Brown....All around Package except for lacking huge power..He is made for AT&T....Would hate to see Joseph go bigtime, but it is an area of strength..maybe an arm from Augusta also...Shifting gears, what do you guys really think about NOONAN? Seems like he has been around for ages but he just turned 23...Good year, including plate disicipline and OBP at Fresno...I know the PCL is a hitters league, but we're not talking about a player that hits a lot of log balls that carry over OFs heads...Did he fianlly get it at the plate after struggling in the EL for a few years? Hope so..

On Noonan i think he can has a chance to be a starter, but his calling might be as a utility player and a very good one.
DeleteCould be...I was curious and I looked up the PCL stats....Noonan is like 23rd in the PCL in BA --not bad-- and I don't know what it means but not ONE of the players above him is younger..He is defientely "young" for the PCL amd maybe the Giants put him there this year because they didn't know what to do with him...hopefully his success year against AAA and AAAA types will translate to the Majors..At 23 he is still young and developning..
