Looks like Nadyis ready for his close up. I wonder how Overbay is feeling, he was probably hoping the Dogs would go with him as first base upgrade.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is looking like Nady might be the callup with Hacker sent down. Gary Brown was replaced by Wendell Fairley in the Richmond game, but that one has to be looked at as a long shot now. Mota can't come off for 2 more days apparently... So Nady is a good prediction, if not a very exciting call.
DeleteI could see Nady hitting 4-5 dingers between now and the end of the season which could be the difference in 2-3 of those games. With nobody grabbing LF by the throat, I think the Giants have to give him a shot. Lightning in a bottle!
DeleteMets just put Scott Hairston and Andres Torres on waivers. Timed it well there Sandy! I think the Dodgers are running out of room on their roster for claims. I can see Hairston getting claimed but Andres sneaking through...
DeleteScott Hairston reminds me of something John F. Kennedy said when they asked him why on Earth he picked Lyndon Johnson to be his running mate, "I'd rather have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." LOL!
DeleteFor sure. The Doyers had to 60-day Jerry so I am sure they will run out and snag Scottie. Those Hairstons are huge Giants killers, and Scott is better at it than his pops namesake.
DeleteI don't remember, but did Escobar sort of come out of nowhere? And 66K in 16.2 IP is fantastic, until I realized maybe that is for the whole season or is it?
ReplyDelete66 is for the season. I meant to write 18. fixed!
DeleteIf you have Escobar slated fir the SJ rotation, who do you see falling out? Agosta or mejia?
ReplyDeleteI have Crick, Stratton, and Blackburn as my other 3 in the rotation next year.
Prolly Agosta starts in Augusta, or they could go with a 6 man rotation in Fresno.
DeleteIf Blackburn starts off pitching well next year 2013 in the SJ rotation, do you see the possibility of the Giants moving him to AA Richmond maybe after a month or two? Looking at his pitching stats this year, this kid seems to have the potential to move quickly..
ReplyDeleteLG
Both Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner pitched complete seasons in Low A then half season for San Jose before being promoted to AA, so that seems to be the blueprint. Of course, Cain and Bumgarner were both first round draft picks while Blackburn was drafted in the 16'th round. I know draft pedigree has some impact on how a prospect is viewed by their organization, but I don't know how much.
