Todd Wellemeyer continued his trend of pitching well at home and atrociously on the road allowing all 6 Pirates runs in his 3 innings of work, a deficit the Giants could not overcome. Key lines:
Andres Torres- 3 for 5, SB(9). BA= .289. Torres got back to being a leadoff hitter after letting the longball get into his head for a couple of games.
Fred Sanchez- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .362. Sanchez has a batting title under his belt.
Todd Wellemeyer- 3 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 3 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 5.72. Wierd, huh?
With the loss, the Giants failed to gain ground on their NL West competition, but at least they didn't lose ground as San Diego, LA and Colorado all lost.
Tim Lincecum tries to right his ship and win the rubber game of the series tomorrow.
