Adalberto Mejia LHP- 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

The big news of the day in the entire minor league system is obviously Mejia and his dominating AAA debut.   He may have suddenly jumped to the head of the line for a big league callup if an need should arise in the rotation.

  1. Whenever things are going as well as I'd like Gregorio struggling in AAA, or Crick looking like he'll never make it, I can't help but take some solace in the fact we don't have too many of these kinds of mistakes:

Report: Red Sox place $72.5M outfielder on waivers

Less than three years in, the Red Sox already regret giving Rusney Castillo that $72.5M contract. (AP)According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Boston Red Sox placed outfielder Rusney Castillo on outright waivers Saturday.

Even worse, for Boston, he's 29. So while the horse my learn to sing, I don't think there's a whole lot of time for him to get better and 'earn' that contract.

So, you got to hand to the Giants front office. While not every contract Post-Zito has been perfect, we've mostly gotten our money's worth.

  2. Although it might be irrational exuberance, the Giants AAA manager predicts that Mejia will pitch well enough to force management's hand.

I'm wondering if Blackburn is trade bait and not in their plans. He continues to pitch well in AAA
but the Giants haven't given him a shot with the big club yet.
