Down on the Farm: 6/12/2016

AAA  El Paso Chihuahuas mauled the Sacramento River Cats 11-3:

Angel Pagan LF- 2 for 4.  BA= .429.

The plan is for Pagan to play one more rehab game today then rest Tuesday then rejoin the Giants and their lineup on Wednesday.

AA  Portland Sea Dogs pounded the Richmond Flying Squirrels 7-1:

Christian Arroyo SS- 1 for 4, 2B.  BA= .286.
Andrew Suarez LHP- 6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 5.45.

High A  San Jose Giants outlasted the Modesto Nuts 2-1 in 11 innings:

Brandon Bednar 2B- 2 for 5, HR(4).  BA= .286.
Jonah Arenado 3B- 2 for 4.  BA= .256.
Sam Coonrod RHP- 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K's.  ERA= 1.98.
Pat Young RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.45.
Rodolfo Martinez RHP- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K's, Save(17).  ERA= 0.70.

Coonrod has the top line of the day in the Giants minor league system.  He's been getting good results without a lot of K's.  Here he adds the K's for a completely dominant start.

Low A  Greenville Drive outscored the Augusta Greenjackets 11-8:

Seth Harrison RF- 3 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .267.
Johneshwy Fargas CF- 2 for 4, HR(1).  BA= .227.
Shawon Dunston Jr LF- 0 for 1, 2 BB.  BA= .000.

DSL  Giants as usual were idle on Sunday.

  1. think i found another blog you might think about linking to

coonrad is very interesting. according to the above blog, his 2 seamer was 92-95, his circle change was in the mid 80s and his slider was in the high 80s

couple of side notes...giants are looking at braun. the crew are probably interested in getting arms. so who from the farm do you think they can use for a trade that wont hurt that much

and although not a prospect, timmeh threw 7 in fresno last night and filled the park
    very happy for the guy

    1. I followed him (Conner Penfold) for years. Then he just flat-out stopped. After a year of nothing, he (basically) said he was done and real-life was leaving him without the time.

      Glad to see he's back.

    2. Yeah, I used to have his site linked, but then he basically closed it down to pursue a career opportunity. I'll check out the site. If he's got it back up and running, I'll definitely link it.
