High A  San Jose Giants edged out the Inland Empire 66'ers 2-1:

Low A Game 1  Augusta Greenjackets dominated the Charleston River Dogs 8-1:

Lucius Fox SS- 1 for 3, BB.  BA= .210.

Phil Bickford RHP- 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 2.70.

Bickford has not been quite as dominant as Madison Bumgarner was in Augusta, but he's been very good.  69 K's against just 15 BB in 60 IP in 11 starts.

Low A Game 2  Charleston River Dogs blanked the Augusta Greenjackets 2-0:

Jake McCasland RHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 1.53.

McCasland seems to have finally found some traction on his career.  Is it too late?

  1. I was waiting for today's Farm Report because I read about Bickford's game yesterday. People were very impressed with his velocity and control. And while it's not Bumgarner control, he's Top-5 in K's and has a very respectable 15 BB's while ranking 7th in WHIP.

So after watching Beede (last year) and Crick (forever) scuffle along with control issues... I'm pretty happy that Bickford is showing some command.

And speaking of AA pitchers... Crick is scuffling with 26 BB's in 52-ish innings. Beede's doing reasonably well. Meija is really rocking it and, as you mentioned earlier, he's probably due for a promotion.
