Noonan is probably thinking, if Culberson doesn't get going soon, I like to get a shot.
ReplyDeleteAs for Kieschnick, send him to Richmond. All the good players are there and we will see if he is really ready, per Sabean.
We've worn out the 2006 middle infielders (Burriss, Bocock, Rohlinger and Matt Downs) now its onto the 2007 guys (Noonan, Culberson, Brock Bond). Burriss time is ticking away.
ReplyDeleteBuyLow - Kieschnick already has a year and a half at Richmond. No point in beating that dead horse. His contact rate will most likely not translate to MLB very well, and I bet we're going to find out pretty soon.
I hope Hembree's adventures lately is due to the Giants working on his secondary pitch.
I meant to say, promote Kieschnick to Richmond.
ReplyDeleteHe is healthier and ready for it now and therefore we will be better able to judge him this time.
Richmond is BELOW Fresno and he was a AA All-Star there last year. Why would we send him to a place he already has played two (injury-shortened) seasons at?
ReplyDeleteBtw, it might be worth a mention that he had 6 RBIs last night...
No one trusts offensive PCL numbers...Put 'em up in Richmond, now you have our attention.
DeleteI was rifling through players stats in the Eastern League. Prospects do hit in that league. The Squirrels trend toward the bottom of team hitting. How much tougher is that park in Richmond than the rest of the league?
It could have something to with that Richmond used to be an International League (AAA) ballpark, a league completely opposite from the PCL. Don't really know tho.
