Maybe Peguero realized after Gary Brown and Jarrett Parker were drafted that he better start hitting much better?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you think Brown and Parker will be playing in 2011, particularly with Peguero in the mix? Seems like Parker should start in SJ, as that seems to be the level most like Parker started (Kieschnick, Crawford) and thus Brown in AA Richmond since he's better, but they could put both in San Jose and move Parker to corner OF spot because of his power.
Peguero, assuming he keeps hitting well enough, should be in AA next season. If I remember right, he's been playing both CF and RF this season, but had been viewed as our future CF. His keys this month was avoiding strikeouts and getting more walks, it seems, which opened up his hitting game. So Brown could end up in AA and CF with Pequero in RF.
I'm thinking if the Giants are serious about landing a big bat and not giving up one of their starters, Peguero could easily be part of the deal.
ReplyDeleteAt 25 YO, Whitaker needs to be pushed, I would think.
ReplyDeleteSo you don't think much about Peguero then? I guess I bought into the pre-season hype on him.
Oh no, I like Peguero a lot! I just think he's a very similar player to Gary Brown( who I guess we still don't have signed, but I'm assuming we will). The Giants would have to give up something of value to land the almost mythical "big bat." Peguero is one guy who I think other teams might have some interest in who the Giants might think is expendable, not because he's not a good player, but because they have some depth in his type of player....if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteYes, that does make sense assuming we sign Gary Brown. Thanks!
