  1. Thanks, Doc! Hmmm... where's the outcry over trading Alderson now? Gotta be pleased with all that Freddie brings the Giants on the field, at the plate, and in the clubhouse.

  2. Yeah, who was that guy who went everywhere complaining about trading for Sanchez and losing Alderson, where is he now?

  3. Wow, Charlie is doing what I was hoping what Fairley would do when he came up. Go Charlie!

  4. Hey, look like what you said about Surkamp on his last start is on the money, that is another great start for him.

And, wow, #12 for Culberson. He's doing nicely after struggling for a couple of years. He's still young for the Cal League, if I remember his age, he should be the same as Bumgarner, 20.

  5. Not sure how to pass this on to you, but there are reports that Pablo Sandoval is going through a difficult divorce, which could be the reason he is struggling so much right now, because he is distracted by his on-going personal issues.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised. Pablo just hasn't been quite his bubbly self all season. It's easy to forget that these guys who we idolize for the on-field accomplishments are people trying to build lives off the field as they grow from playing a kids game for fun to stardom to playing it for money to support a family. The game is not structured to be supportive of family life. I would think it would take extraordinary effort to maintain a relationship, let alone a family, in that environment. This is pure speculation on my part, but I know Matt Cain got married this offseason. The thought has crossed my mind that his mind seems to be somewhere besides focusing on the hitter and catcher lately. You have to wonder if something's going on at home that's a distraction. I don't think it's any secret, after Sabean clumsily commented on it, that part of MadBum's spring training issues had to do with getting married this offseason. These players are human, after all.
