The Transaction list is now officially more interesting than the games. Tommy La Stella IF and Thairo Estrada UT switched places on and off the COVID IL.
The Giants paid cash to the Guardians for pitching prospect Tobias Myers RHP. Myers numbers at AAA this season are not good, 1-9, 6.00, 60 IP, 33 BB, 40 K, but last season he had a much better 3.90 ERA with 146 K and 28 BB in 117.2 IP. The Giants coaching staff will help him try to find what's missing this season.
The Giants also claimed Colton Welker 3B off waivers from the Rockies and immediately put him on the 60-day IL in a move reminiscent of how they acquired Luis Gonzalez OF. Welker is a serious prospect who batted .309 in 6 minor league seasons in the Rockies organization.
