The Giants got great situational hitting* to score early and often to back the shutout pitching of Logan Webb RHP and cruised to an easy win. *Get runners on base, drive them in.
Austin Slater CF- 3 for 5, 2B. BA= .287. Slater is hitting .529 over his last 7 games, .351 over his last 15 and .324 over his last 30.
Yermin Mercedes LF/1B- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(1), BB. BA= .296. Whoa! Is Yermin Mercedes the RH bat FZ was supposed to get during Hot Stove season and has been looking for ever since?
Thairo Estrada SS- 2 for 5, 2 HR(9). BA= .259. Estrada was slumping but is 4 for 10 with 3 HR in his last 3 games(appeared but with 0 AB in yesterday's game).
David Villar 3B- 2 for 4, 3B. BA= .267. Villar continues to impress in a small sample.
Joey Bart C- 2 for 4, HR(5). BA= .168. Bart is 3 for 10 over his last 3 games. Hey! It's a start! He has been looking a more confident at the plate, IMO.
Logan Webb RHP- 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K's, GO/AO= 7/1. ERA= 2.82. Kap wisely decided to dial back on Webb's pitch count in the blowout. Webb has a 1.125 ERA in 40 IP over his last 6 starts starting June 14.
Too much good stuff!
