Down on the Farm: 7/12/2022

AAA:  Albuquerque Isotopes burned the Sacramento River Cats 5-2.

Heliot Ramos CF- 1 for 2, 2B, BB, HBP.  BA= .225.
Jason Vosler 3B- 1 for 3, HR(9), BB.  BA= .223.
Tristan Beck RHP- 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 10 K.  ERA= 7.13.

Kind of an odd line for Beck, especially since the one HR he gave up was a solo shot.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Altoona Curve 6-4.

Michael Gigliotti CF- 1 for 3, BB, HBP, 2 SB(21).  BA= .232.
Kai-Wei Teng RHP- 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.60.
Blake Rivera RHP- 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's, Save(1).  ERA= 2.79.

Blake Rivera has battled injuries since the Giants drafted him in the 4'th round in the 2018 draft.  He is finally making a case for himself as a future bullpen arm.

A+:  Spokane Indians crushed the Eugene Emeralds 9-0.

Randy Rodriguez RHP- 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 3.38.

Rodriguez kicked it up a notch in July so far with 14 K's and just 1 BB in 6.1 IP.

A:  Visalia Rawhide edged out the San Jose Giants 5-4.

Grant McCray CF- 1 for 5, HR(13).  BA= .273.
Victor Bericoto 1B- 3 for 4, HR(8), BB.  BA= .265.

After a rough April, Bericoto is having a nice season at the plate.

Complex Watch:

Lisander De La Cruz RHP(ACL, 20 yo)- 4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, GO/AO= 6/1.  ERA= 3.86.

Patrick Hilson CF(ACL, 21 yo)- 4 for 5, 2B, 3B, HR(4), BB, HBP.  Slash Line= .233/.374/.500.  Hilson hits for the cycle.  He has long been one of the toolsiest prospects in the system but very raw and a long term project.  Is that project starting to take a very positive turn?

Carson Ragsdale RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.  Ragsdale rehabbing.

  1. Although the Ems were truly crushed (0 runs, 4 hits, 2 walks, and mostly ineffective pitching), FWIW, Brown got a 1B and a W in 4 PAs and leads the NWL in all offensive % stats for batters with 55 or more ABs, as he led the Cal League in most categories (with qualifying PAs).
Brown is in "new territory" for his 6 years of college and pro baseball with 327 PAs, exceeding last years 263. To put that is perspective, Flores leads all Giants with 323 in 81 games.

20-year old Mariano also has great stats across the board for SSS of 146 ABs.
