Down on the Farm: 5/12/2011

AAA Nashville Sounds beat the Fresno Grizzlies 5-2:

Brett Pill(1B)- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .324.

Pill moved back to first with Belt playing LF and Travis playing RF in this one.

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Harrisbug Senators 6-3 in 11 innings:

Charlie Culberson(2B)- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .291.
Juan Perez(CF)- 3 for 6, SB(7). BA= .242.
Johnny Monell(C)- 4 for 5, 2B, HR(4), BB. BA= .228.
Eric Surkamp(LHP)- 5.2 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 1.88.
Dan Otero(RHP)- 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 1.93.

Big game for Monell who needs some more of these. Otero has a 24/2 K/BB with a GO/AO= 2.38 in 23.1 IP. Not quite as dominating a start from Surkamp than what we've seen.

A+ San Jose Giants downed the Lancaster Jethawks 5-4:

Gary Brown(CF)- 1 for 3, BB. CS(10). BA= .362.
Tommy Joseph(DH)- 1 for 2, HR(4), HBP. BA= .244.
Chris Dominguez(3B)- 2 for 3, HR(8). BA= .284.
Jake Dunning(RHP)- 7 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 5.52.
Heath Hembree(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's, Save(10). ERA= 0.69.

Brown may need to work on being more selective in his baserunning, or else learn to read pitchers and get better jumps. Good to see the Bash Brothers hitting the long taters again.

Low A Rome Braves clobbered the Augusta Greenjackets 13-6:

Ydwin Villegas(SS)- 3 for 4. BA= .185.
Adam Duvall(3B)- 2 for 4. BA= .267.

Not much to see here.
