How Loux can you go? What a great game!
ReplyDeleteAnd you can call him Ray, wow, that's a great ratio.
The Giants have a lot of interesting pitchers at all the levels.
Charlie Culberson's power numbers have gone down but the Eastern League seems to have that effect. Hopefully if he gets promoted to Fresno later this year, we can see him really play well. Our next big question is who will be our SS next year. Jose Reyes? Probably not. He wants a Carl Crawford type contract. Nobody in our system can hit at this position but I would much rather have Brandon Crawford in the bigs right now hitting .200 but not making any errors. Tejada has blown at least 2 maybe 3 games with his glove. I am being generous with those numbers. Crawford can come up and hit 8th and probably save us from the horrible errors at SS. On the chance that the Giants do make a move for Reyes and sign him long term, can you picture that infield. Panda at 3B, Reyes at SS, Culberson at 2B, and Belt at 1B. That sounds great to me.
ReplyDeleteAny word on Belt's walks? Were they of the intention / unintentional-intentional variety, or is he just using his eye?
ReplyDeleteI would rather he swing a little more freely while he is in Fresno right now. One of his "weaknesses" while in SF was his lack of aggressiveness.
We know you have a Boggs-ian eye. Now work on your Bonds-ian aggressiveness.
I agree with this. Until I see hin going 1-2 with a homer and two walks I'm going to insist that Decker get him to swing at the ones on the corners. The big leaguers will know he'll be looking to lay off the junk off the plate, but they'll be getting strikes for the pitches he's looking to take as balls.
ReplyDeleteAny reports on his outfield defense? The Giants would hugely benefit from his play in the outfield if he's getting to balls that Huff and Pat aren't ever going to get to.
