  1. Williamson back could be the "gift" the Giants need for the 2nd half.
    No matter, SF is the longest of long shots with 8 teams ahead of them for 5 slots in the NL, then 6 more teams that are "ahead" of them in the "tougher" league if we're talking about winning the WS. Again.
    The natural inclination is to cling to life however nebulous, when there is a "real" chance of survival, even if it's just 1%.
    In the next 10 days, the Giants face 3 strong teams (A's would be real playoff contenders in the NL) -- by July 29th, we should have an answer.

    1. The Giants have "given up" at the deadline just once in the past 10 years. They will still try to go for it even if it's a 1% chance.
