  1. Its beginning to look more and more likely that Coonrod has hit his "Sound Barrier" in Richmond this season and he stock as a prospect is on the decline. I had high hopes for him at the end of last season. Same goes for Tyler Beede, who is starting to make me think that he is just a higher velocity Chris Stratton. Is Suarez passing the inconsistent Beede as the top pitching prospect? Its going to be interesting to see who the Giants drop off their 40 man roster if they want to see Shaw or Suarez this September. That's even if they are thinking of doing that. I would guess Trevor Brown and Conor Giliaspie. Has anyone heard if Slater might be back for September or not?

  2. Looks like the Zephyrs changed their name to the New Orleans Baby Cakes in 2017 in honor of the king cake tradition for Mardi Gras:
"Some sports teams around the area have also infused the tradition of the king cake baby into their teams. The Miami Marlins AAA minor league baseball affiliate, formerly known as the New Orleans Zephyrs, changed their name to the New Orleans Baby Cakes, starting in the 2017 season. The New Orleans Pelicans introduced the King Cake Baby as a second mascot during games around Mardi Gras, to accompany their main mascot, Pelican Pierre."
