John Sickles (on the 22nd) finished up his mid-season prospect review: https://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/8/22/16164166/mid-season-review-san-francisco-giants-top-20-prospects-for-2017
ReplyDeleteAlso, with an average age of 27.4 in AAA (Baseball Prospectus), virtually all the Giants main-stream prospects are (at AAA) under the average. Of the players there that I'd consider 'actual prospects,' only Mac Williamson, at 27, is average. While many of them are three to five years younger. I don't know if it really means anything. But I did find it interesting.
How do you feel about the Giants only sending 4 to Scottsdale? Isn't 5-6 standard? Maybe they're waiting to see if an injured player will be ready to go?
ReplyDeleteGuessing they add a couple more later. Historically, Giants are notoriously late in naming their AFL assignees.
DeleteThe Giants are planning to add two more pitchers to the AFL. They just haven't announced whom they'll be sending.
DeleteShaw is the 5th player. There will be one more.
DeletePatrick Ruotolo:
ReplyDelete27th round pick, #815 overall from college (2016).
Wasn't picked in any earlier drafts.
Walked 14 in 19 innings last year at S-K with 35 K's and 1 HB.
Somebody pulled the wild hair out of his nose!
