I get to watch so few games in their entirety and the Cubs pitcher, Hendricks, he was so frustrating. He has this hang-dog express face and is so slow between pitches. There were times I just wanted to yell at the screen: "just throw the ****ing thing!"
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm glad they managed to scrape together enough runs so Bumgarner's excellent effort wasn't wasted like it has been so many times this year.
Sandoval made a pretty good play at 3B. Diving stop and a throw from his knees to rob Zobrist of an infield single. He's also hitting .333 with the Giants. You know what would be ironic, if he actually learned his lesson about conditioning and working hard and returned to form. I will never 'like' him again, though he plays like a dedicated major-leaguer I will respect him. But you don't **** on my team on the way out to a fat-money contract and work yourself back into my 'good team graces.'
How 'bout he plays his way back to respectability this year then becomes a FA (right?) and signs with someone in the division for the highest dollar?
DeleteThen you can really hate him!
I'm in the "GO FOR 70!" club: 24-22 to finish the season with 70 wins.
ReplyDeleteIs that even possible?

SANDOVAL LEADS GIANTS TO STRONG FINISH!
Signs with Colorado, hits 74 HRs, leads Rox to 1st WS championship!
OMG
The Giants "own" him for the next 2 years if they want him (they gave a team option after this year and next). If the Giants do decide to walk away from him after this season, any other team that he signs with would still only be on the hook for the league min (a little over 500K) per year.
