On 10/16, Surprise Saguaros pounded the Scottsdale Scorpions 11-3. Heath Hembree was the only Giant appearing for the Scorpions and pitched a scoreless inning.
In yesterday's game, the Scorpions downed the Mesa Solar Sox 5-2:
Gary Brown(CF)- 1 for 4, SF. BA= .238.
Joe Panik(SS)- 1 for 4. BA= .105.
Chris Dominguez(DH)- 2 for 3, 2B, HBP. BA= .333.
Ricky Oropesa(1B)- 2 for 3, HR(1), BB. BA= .333.
Jacob Dunnington(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Dan Runzler(LHP)- 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 0.00.
Brown and Panik are still trying to get untracked. Nice games from Chris Dominguez and Ricky Oropesa. Ricky's mom will be stoked today. I'll have to give her a high 5.

I know it's a SSS but all of Hembree, Runzler and Dunnington are fast out of the blocks---9 appearnces between them, 9 innings 5 hits 0 BB and 0 ER..........Bottom line, with what the Giants have now in the pen and with WIlson coming back and with these guys, the Giants won't have to worry about releivers in the off-season...Just whether or not they want to re-sign Affeldt...OK, back to Timmy winning tonight and making the series even...

I think maybe one guy makes it out of spring training with the other 2 in Fresno for the inevitable callups in the season.
DeleteIf they stick to their mode of operation, they will still spend some money on or trade for some reliever(s) from outside.
I believe Runzler is a good lefty, but has he improve his command enough to stick with the big boys.
