why arent they shifting panik to second?
ReplyDeleteglad to see runzler and hembree are throwing well
Apparently the Giants firmly believe Panik can stick at SS. Even if they think Crawford can hold down the position in future years, it pays to keep Panik at the more premium position as long as possible to keep options open.
DeleteI thought of this question watching all the Cardinal power arms in the bullpen.. Do the Giants see their #2 pick Martin Agosta as a future starting pitcher or relief pitcher? I saw him pitch against Hawaii and liked his power arm. i could see a team using him out of the bullpen to take advantage of his mid 90's fastball.. Sorry I know he's not in the AFL.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see G Brown starting offf well. looking forward to him making his MLB debut in the future.

The Giants historically have been open minded about relief vs starting for their pitching prospects. A lot of it has to do with which role they perform best in and also what the needs of the organization are, particularly at the MLB level. The Giants do seem to be intent on stocking up on high-velocity arms as evidenced by the most recent draft 2 drafts.
