Someone on Twitter pointed out that Mercedes is a groundball machine. GO/AO has been over 2.00 ever stop. Cameron Cotter was signed as a minor league FA out of indy ball in May.

I haven’t seen Bart’s name in any minor lines for a while. I looked it up and he’s really struggling in AAA. What happened to him?

Good question. Here's what I think. Bart has always had a ton of swing and miss in his game and at least at the MLB level, had trouble elevating the ball. If I have to guess I'll say he's working on changing his swing path to better elevated the ball which in turn is causing even more swing and miss. We'll see how that works out with more time but it's possible Bart is just never going to hit at the MLB level.
DeleteBTW, I saw Bart play in person in San Bernardino when he was in A+ ball. To my eye, it looked like he had a grooved swing which means his bat takes the same path regardless of pitch or location. In retrospect, maybe I should have paid more attention to that. The only minor league player I remember with a swing like that was Angel Villalona.
Bart may need a change of scenery at this point. With him struggling so bad at the plate right now. He may need to go down to AA for a bit to get his swing right.
