  1. That was me on McDonald..Good to see..I'm afraid the only possible bright spot for the entire organization this year is the growth of the young pitching..Make no mistake, FZ has done one good thing, the Giants have a lot of good young pitchers in MLB (Harrison, WInn, hell even Hicks throw in relievers like Rodrigues, Walker, Miller, maybe Hjelle) down to Sac (Black, Roup, WHisenhunt, Seymour) and further on down..won't even name them, both starters and relievers......But, they will all have their hiccups and inconsistencies (which hurts in SF - WInn), and that's what they have to work on this year..

Oh and Hunter Bishop in Sacramento? Is that on merit or just desperation?

    1. Went to the RiverCats game yesterday. Hunter Bishop looks like an athlete and looked good against right handed pitching. His two ABs versus left-handers not so much ! PS the 3 pitchers all looked good--- throwing 92-94 MPH and throwing strikes. Walkoff HRs (more so when it's against a Dodgers farm club) never get old.

    2. I like the good young pitchers too in the system. That might lead to better days ahead. I'm interested in seeing Carson Whisenhunt one day, heard his changeup is an exceptional pitch. What about Hayden Birdsong, heard he has a mid 90s fastball pitching at Richmond.

  2. McDonald starts a rehab assignment every single season. Literally EVERY SINGLE SEASON. Obviously he has talent, but if he ever puts it together it’s obvious it will only be for a season or 2 due to the fact that he’s ridiculously injury prone. Ask, they better not add Reggie Crawford to the 40 man roster yet. He’s also been hurt every single year. He has to prove that he can have a full healthy season. As soon as they prematurely add him on the 40 man roster before he’s ready due to lack of playing time in minors, he’s just going to be wasting that 40 man roster spot as he toils in the minors. Ain’t no way he gets called up and is a healthy stud. Why do I say that? Because have you ever seen a player spend several years in the minors where he was hurt and barely played and then gets prematurely called up to the majors and becomes a regular major league talent and contributor. No I don’t think anyone can name anyone. Yes there’s prospects who fly through the system fast but those guys actually play and dominate. Obviously Crawford has potential based off how he looks this year. Just let him play in the minors as a healthy player and don’t freaking add him to the 40 man
