  1. Was wondering why I hadn't seen anything from Arias or Martin. Arias has a sprained wrist. Martin has a strained hamstring.

  2. Pavs tweeted Reggie Crawford promoted to AAA Sacramento. Wow, he's on the fast track to the big leagues as a reliever if he stays healthy. Speaking of which Hunter Bishop promoted to Sacramento too, due to the call-ups to to all the injuries

  3. I was at the game last night. I echo the comments about the outfield play by the Giants. While Smith’s drive would have been a difficult catch at best, the way the CF got twisted around chasing it down made it uncatchable. One thing that was glaringly obvious: Ohtani has 11 HR as does T. Hernandez. I don’t think the entire starting lineup for the Giants had 11 HR between them. I thought the Giants should have gone after Bellinger this winter, would have been a good fit with the vast outfield at Oracle. And the short RF porch would have played to his strengths as a LH hitter. The 3 run shot by Matos was what the Giants needed but unfortunately they just fell short. One thing you don’t see on the telecasts is when Doval comes in to start the 9th, it is like a boxing entrance. They turn the lights off and illuminate a row of red lights and then turn a spotlight on Doval as he walks in from the bullpen. Quite a production. Surprising how much blue was in the stands last night as well

    1. Welcome to the blog, Roy. Thank you for the in-person observations. Yes, the talent gap between the two teams is probably wider than it has been in my memory which goes back almost 60 years.

    2. What depresses me is the talent gap between the Dodgers and the entire division is getting larger. . Dbacks beat them in the playoffs but they look like a different team this year. The Padres seem to have more grit this year but they're a 500 team so far on a limited budget. More important nobody can keep up with the Dodgers spending . Problem with MLB is the gap between Big market and small market teams seem to be getting bigger . Was looking forward to see the Giants battle the dodgers at home until the baseball gods decided to take vengeance on the Giants with all the injuries at once. That's not anyone's fault in my opinion
