Max Muncy crushed a HR into McCovey Cove in the first inning off Madison Bumgarner that got Bummy all riled up. It was the only run in the game as the Giants offense failed to pick up their pitcher. Key Lines:
Madison Bumgarner LHP- 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.83. Rumor had it the Yankees were scouting Bummy. They were probably unimpressed with Bummy's letting Muncy's admiration for the HR get in under his skin. On the other hand, they had to like the 7 innings of 1-run ball. A word of advice to Madison Bumgarner: Opposing hitters are trolling you. Don't feed the trolls!
Only one Giants batter reached base more than once, Evan Longoria had a hit and a walk. The closest they came to a rally was the 6'th inning when Mike Yastrzemski and Longo led off the inning with B2B singles putting runners at first and third, but Yaz got thrown out at home on a FC effectively ending the rally.
