Drew Pomeranz matched goose eggs with Clayton Kershaw for 5 innings. The Giants lineup mounted a baby rally in the 6'th inning and the bullpen protected the lead. Key Lines:
Evan Longoria 3B- 2 for 4. BA= .228. Longo and Brandon Belt were the only two Giants batters to reach base twice. Belt led off the 6'th with a walk followed by Longo's single. Tyler Austin flied out, then Kevin Pillar singed to LF to drive in Belt. The runners moved up on a WP by Kershaw and added an insurance run in a Fielder's Choice play which allowed Brandon Crawford to reach. That's it. Not much of a rally, but that's all it takes when you get great pitching.
Drew Pomeranz LHP- 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 7.16. The big difference tonight for Pomeranz was command of his curveball which had movement and bit and was going where he wanted it to go. He paired that up with an electric FB that ran 90-93 and dominated the Dodgers for 5 inings. 92 is a lot of pitches in 5 innings, but yeah, we'll take it!
Bullpen- 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. Reyes Moronta and Sam Dyson pitched shutout frames. Tony Watson allowed a solo HR to Chris Taylor in the 8'th. Will Smith shut it down in the ninth with 2 K's and earned his 14'th Save.

Pomeranz threw 30 of his 92 pitches in the first inning, with 3 Ks including 2 with the bases loaded. He threw roughly 15 per inning after that.

Awesome game. Was there last night. Several things. 1. Duggar is a beast in the field. 2. Belt took advantage of the shift with a well placed bunt. 3. The team, and crowd, were fired up last night. Here's hoping that the both keep it up.
