Castro was by far the best pitching prospect in extended for the Giants, FB, 94-97 hard dropping CH and flashed of good power SL, on top of that he is got very nice feel for the strike zone.
ReplyDeleteLuciano is the one to watch, we need a SS going fwd. and if he, Ramos, Bart, Bishop develop as expected we have a New Core here. Throw in some pretty talented Young Arms in the System and upgrades Z can bring ............... something to look fwd. too.
ReplyDeleteYour point is good. That they'll develop into the core 4-5 SF had for much of the early decade is the hope. It's a long, long way to go.
DeleteZ should get what he can for the over-30 crowd, sending money along where it's possible, and make investments to pay off in the 20's, probably nearing the mid-20's.
Can the Ownership Group finance that? Attendance is dwindling precipitously and it will get worse before it gets better. Each of the "core" has a constituency and shedding each will affect attendance.
Stormy seas ahead.
