I was up late with a family medical emergency last night and pressed for time this morning so an abbreviated post today:
Brandon Belt's solo dinger was just 1 of 3 Giants hits in a lifeless loss to the D'Backs in Game 1 of a 4 game series. Tyler Beede pitched decently.
More sillyball in the PCL as Chris Shaw and Zach Green had 3 hits and a HR each in a 17-5 blowout in El Paso.
Bryce Johnson had 3 hits leading off in his second game after a promotion to AA.
Alexander Canario hit his 6'th HR for Giants Orange in the AZL.
Feel free to post your highlights in the Comments.
BTW, everything under control for now with my family. Thanks for your patience and support.

1. Shaw has earned a shot. Perhaps in the slot occupied by Austin.
ReplyDelete2. Dumb hitting has hurt the Giants this season. How often do they have 1) the leadoff hitter double, 2) the first two hitters reach base or 3) they load the bases with none out, and they come up with 0-1 runs. The downfall often beginning with a popup on the infield, showing that the hitter was trying to hit a homerun. Wisdom with hitting begins with situational hitting. That falls in the lap of the hitting coach.
Glad to hear family OK.
ReplyDeleteGlad everything is under control Doc. Take care of yourself and your family.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have you around, Doc, here and, I'm sure, at your home.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Giants could use you to fix their bats...
