Drew Pomeranz got roughed up in the first inning and the game went downhill from there for the Giants who were ultimately blown out for the second game in a row. Key Lines:
Tyler Austin LF- 1 for 4, HR(6). BA= .211. Austin got it over the fence this time. Toonder! And against a RHP.
Mike Yastrzemski RF- 1 for 3, HR(3). BA= .250. The swing is sweet.
Drew Pomeranz LHP- 4.1 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 7.09. In addition to the 9 hits which all seemed to be hit hard, the Dodgers had 3 line-outs. Just not a very good job of pitching and no silver linings I can see.

Just when it looked like the Giants were gaining some traction, they've been crushed the last 2 games. Madison Bumgarner tries to split the series tomorrow facing LHP Luis Urias apparently not Walker Buehler.

Seems illogical, but Yastrzemski @ 28 yo seems to have found something after not showing much more than occasional minor league spurts. 5-12 and 2 HRs in last 13 ABs doesn't mean too much except you can always hope. Is he elevating?
ReplyDeleteDeveloping takes opportunities and lots of patience
ReplyDeleteThe booth-boys pointed out the enormity of the 1st inning disadvantage that the Giants have endured this year. they put a number on it. The good news is it's not 100-0. The bad news is it is really bad.
ReplyDeleteCan we admit it's not working?
What's with pitchers NOT being ready? Coaching? Confidence? Crappy?
Time for a opener -- 'cept Bumgarner?
FGS, do something!
