AAA: Sacramento River Cats outscored the Las Vegas Aviators 10-9.
Wade Meckler DH- 2 for 3, HR(1), BB. BA= .308.
Nick Swiney LHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 4.06.
Chris Wright LHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 4.21.
Reminder that the PCL is a hitter's league and Las Vegas is a hitter's park but Wade Meckler has raked at 3 levels this season.
AA: Richmond Flying Squirrels buried the Bowie Baysox 10-2.
Victor Bericoto RF- 3 for 3, 2B, BB. BA= .209.
Logan Wyatt 1B- 2 for 4, HR(4). BA= .221.
Carson Seymour RHP- 5 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 3.70.
Seymour is quietly having a solid season for the Squirrels. His combined line over his last two starts: 1-0, 0.90, 10 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 15 K's.
A+: Everett Aquasox blanked the Eugene Emeralds 6-0.
Aeverson Arteaga SS- 4 for 5, 2 2B, SB(7). BA= .236.
Damon Dues 2B- 3 for 3, 2B, BB, SB(14). BA= .291.
Reggie Crawford LHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 1.13.
Arteaga continues his second half surge despite the team blanking. Reggie Crawford is pitching really well in the SSS he's given. Giants obviously have a plan for him and it doesn't involve overworking him.
A: San Jose Giants tamed the Fresno Grizzlies 10-5.
Turner Hill CF- 1 for 3, 2 BB, 2 SB(22). BA= .284.
Onil Perez C- 2 for 4, BB, SB(21). BA= .310.
Scott Bandura LF- 3 for 3, HR(1), 2 BB, SB(1). BA= 1.000.
Patrick Hilson RF- 2 for 4, 2B, SB(10). BA= .244.
Wow! Scott Bandura's first game in a full season league is a smashing success! Reminder that once upon a time he was Mo'ne Davis' catcher in the Little League World Series.
Complex Performances:
DSL:
Miguel Blanco DH(17 yo)- 3 for 3, SB(6). BA= .252.
ACL:
Estanlin Cassiani CF- 2 for 4. BA= .284.
Bryce Eldridge RF- 1 for 2, HR(1), BB. BA= .267.
Jack Payton C- 2 for 3. BA= .438.
Guillermo Williamson 1B- 2 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .303.
Lazaro Morales CF- 2 for 4, HR(2). BA= .158.
Giants first round draft pick, Bryce Eldridge, hits his first professional HR.
Query, do you think they are currently viewing Crawford as a closer or will they stretch them out to start at some point?
ReplyDeleteTrial by fire for Meckler: Bring him up!
ReplyDeleteIn less than 2 years:
Rookie: 12 games .290
A: 11 games .439
A+: 20 games .456
AA: 39 games .336
AAA: 7 games .308, OBP: .550, -3.7 AgeDif
If you take out his 3 game "slow start" in AAA when he went 0-4, he's hitting .444: 4 for 9, 1 K, 1W
At every level, his Walks have exceeded his K's except 2021 after being completely off in Covid 2020.
Didn't Meckler start out at single A? If so, that would be 4 levels or raking! Can you remember any other Giant's prospect who advanced from A all the way to AAA in a single season? I'd love to see that list. And he could still make it to the majors this year.
