AAA:  Sacramento River Cats defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 4-2.

Casey Schmitt 2B- 3 for 4, 2B, 3B.  BA= .313.
Jackson Reetz LF- 1 for 2, HR(8), BB.  BA= .227.
Joey Bart C- 1 for 2, BB. BA= .241.
Kai-Wei Teng RHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.34.
Nick Avila RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Save(2).  ERA= 3.38.

 Before you get all excited about Casey Schmitt possibly coming back to the Giants, he's drawn just 3 walks in 48 PA since getting sent down.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels blanked whitewashed the Harrisburg Senators 4-0.

Parker Dunshee RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 2.56.

A+:  Eugene Emeralds overwhelmed the Vancouver Canadians 9-1.

Giants will have a big decision regarding Grant McCray and the 40-man roster this offseason. He has bolstered his case with a strong second half surge.

A:  San Jose Giants beat the Stockton Ports 4-1.

A couple more Dominican Dandies who have been flying under my radar.  Acosta has 64 K's in 46.1 IP.

  1. It's good to see Casey Schmidt starting to hit in AAA. Hope he gets a chance in 2024 to establish himself in MLB. The Giants could use his defensive contribution, just needs to learn to control the strikezone better offensively. That's what management loves to see.

    1. Better control of the strike zone is what Casey needs to to do hit MLB pitching at all. Once the pitchers figured out he would swing at anything they stopped throwing pitches anywhere near the strike zone.

    2. His versatile fielding won't even get him to the Bigs as a utility guy – after 20 games he had this with SF before being sent down:
      In 141 PAs: .121/.207/.161/.368 with 37 Ks & 9 BBs.
      He's still chasing in AAA because he can hit them but he's learning nothing.

  2. Maybe Kae-Wei Teng deserves a shot next season? He’s always been intriguing. Tall and big bodied, lots of strike outs but sometimes has ERA problems. Still very young.
