  2. You have to wonder why the Giants signed Hwang -- many, too many, trash pile signees got a chance when a guy with some actual bonafides -- at least what would have been expected -- is shunned.
Might not help next time a Korean comes along.
Churchill summed it up with "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key."
Perhaps the Giants hid the key and can't find it.
It's no greater mystery than what's gone on this year.

    1. I put my keys in the same place every day. If I don't, I'm in serious trouble... I think that's what happened...

    2. No, one doesn't have to wonder about the signing and handling of Hwang. He was brought up as soon as the team (a) fully assessed his skills and versatility at several positions in AAA, and (b) assessed the readiness for MLB of his two young competitors at 3B, Arroyo and Jones. The only clearly temporary player that they had at 3B, as I recall, was Hill; and they jettisoned him as soon as Jones seemed ripe for a trial. Isn't this a rational mode of assessment and procedure?

    3. I think we actually shamed them into calling Hwang up. LOL!

  3. Just got this off Pav's CSN blog:

"Steven Duggar was in camp for the first time and he might have been an outfield replacement had he stayed healthy. After dealing with a flexor strain and hamstring tightness, he returned to rehab games last night. He should be in San Jose soon, and then it’ll be back to Sacramento at some point. Duggar is the center fielder closest to the majors, so it would be nice to get a look at him in September. "

Finally I have an answer to something that I've been trying to find out since early May.
