Down on the Farm: 6/18/2017

AAA  Sacramento River Cats cooled off the Albuquerque Isotopes 1-0:

Ryder Jones RF/3B- 2 for 4.  BA= .293.
Mac Williamson LF- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .252.
Joan Gregorio RHP- 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K's.  ERA= 3.04.
Michael Roth LHP- 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 4.12.

-Not a QS for Gregorio but it was 5 dominant innings.  Tyler Beede and Andrew Suarez might be the top 2 SP prospects in the system, but don't forget about Gregorio who just might have the highest ceiling of the 3.

AA  Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Harrisburg Senators 5-3:

Miguel Gomez 2B- 3 for 5, HR(7).  BA= .319.
CJ Hinojosa SS/3B- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .252.
Tyler Horan RF- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .208.
Jose Flores RHP- 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 2.45.
Tyler Cyr RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, Save(8).  ERA= 1.85.

-Gomez just keeps hitting.  He seems to have settled into a steady role playing 2B.  Any word on how he's doing defensively there?
-CJ Hinojosa is hitting .333 over his last 10 games including 9 for 17 over his last 4.

Skyler Ewing C- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .232.
Stephen Woods RHP- 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 3.49.

    1. Duggar has been slow to recover from a muscle strain. I'm not sure he has ever been the CF of the future. He can play CF, but he's played RF more often in the minors.

    2. do we have to wait 2-3 years to see reynolds in CF even though span will most likely be done before the end of next year?

    3. Is Slade Heathcoff a "true" CFer? Played most of his up-and-down career there.
He can't be worse than at least a half-dozen players the Giants have put in the outfield this year.
