Down on the Farm: 8/10/2016

AAA  Sacramento River Cats blanked the Tacoma Rainiers 2-0:

Austin Slater LF- 2 for 4 2 2B.  BA= .250.
Travis Ishikawa 1B- 1 for 4, HR(10).  BA= .269.
Grant Green RF- 2 for 4.  BA= .305.
Ty Blach LHP- 9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 3.36.

Have a game, Ty Blach!  This was Blach's 8'th QS in a row.  Over that span he has an ERA of 1.40 with 43 K's and 7 BB's in 58 IP.  Maybe we'll get to see him in September?  The Giants have 6 starters on the 25 man active roster right now and they  have 5 guys who are locks for next year barring injury, but Blach is ready and deserves a shot somewhere.  Maybe he could do the long relief/spot starter thing next year?  Slater is hitting .325 over his last 10 games.

Luke Lanphere went to Citrus HS in Redlands, CA.  His sister played volleyball with my daughter.  He was the little brother who helped carry her bags when they went to tournaments.  Now he's 6'4" and throws in the low-mid 90's.

Franklin Labour DH- 2 for 3, BB, SB(3).  BA= .257.

Jesus Reyes RHP- 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K's, Save(2).  ERA= 1.16.

Even though Reyes is 20 yo, I think he may be the pitching prospect from this year's DSL class.  He was one of 2 All-Star game representatives for the Giants.  He's listed at 6'4", 176 lbs.
