AAA Fresno Giants pounded the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 10-1:
Emmanuel Burriss- 2 for 4, 3B, BB, SB(10). BA= .295.
Ryan Rohlinger- 3 for 4, BB, SB(2). BA= .303.
Ben Copeland- 2 for 3, 3B, 2 BB. BA= .283
Steve Holm- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .249.
Kevin Pucetas- 7 IP, 9 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 5.72.
Nice game for Burriss. Looking over the Giants SS situation and who is available on the FA market, gotta think Burriss is in the mix for the Giants SS gig next year. 2 solid starts in a row for Pucetas, who has struggled mightily this season.
AA Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Reading Phillies 5-4:
Nick Noonan- 1 for 3, BB. BA= .249.
Sharlon Schoop- 2 for 4. BA= .282.
Conor Gillaspie- 2 for 4, 3B. BA= .296.
Brandon Belt- 2 for 3, BB. BA= .331.
Thomas Neal- 2 for 4. BA= .293.
Clayton Tanner- 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 3.42.
Andy Sisco- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 4.83.
Gillaspie's triple was the only XBH out of 9. Two good outings in a row for Sisco.
High A San Jose Giants scored 4 runs in the last two innings for a come-from-behind win over the Visalia Rawhide:
Francisco Peguero- 1 for 4, 3B, BB. BA= .318.
Juan Perez- 3 for 5, 2B, HR(11). BA= .302.
Kyle Woodruff- 6 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 3.24.
Augusta Greenjackets scored 5 runs in the last two innings to edge the Lexington Legends 5-4:
Kelvin Marte- 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 2.70.
Jeremy Toole- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.94.
The Jackets got their first baserunner with 1 out in the 6'th inning and only sent 21 men to the plate through 7 against Lexington starter Jose Cisneros.
Short Season Yakima Bears defeated the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 8-3:
Aaron King- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 3.31.
S-K batters managed to score their 3 runs on just 3 hits in the game.
Rookie AZL Athletics beat the Giants 4-1:
Gary Brown- 0 for 3, BB. BA= .143.
Austin Fleet- 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 2.65.
Brandon Allen- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.60.
Well, just look at that! Brown has 2 walks in his first 2 pro games! Kids like Allen are why I'm optimistic about the Giants lower minors.
DSL Giants have a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
