AAA Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Portland Beavers 8-2:
Brock Bond- 2 for 3, 2B, 2 BB. BA= .282. OBP= .386.
Mike McBryde- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .255. Batting .323 last 10 games.
Ryan Rohlinger- 3 for 5, 2B, SB(1). BA= .351.
Buster Posey- 2 for 4, 2 2B. BA= .361.
Eric Hacker- 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 8 K's. ERA= 1.25.
Bond continues to be an on- base machine. McBryde has been hot of late. Hacker has some very nice numbers so far.
AA DH Game 1 Richmond Flying Squirrels beat New Britain Rock Cats 3-1:
Brandon Crawford- 1 for 4, HR(2). BA= .224.
Conor Gillaspie- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .250.
Roger Kieschnick- 2 for 2, BB. BA= .262.
Daryl Maday- 5.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K's, GO/AO= 8/2. ERA= 1.11.
Some signs of life among the hitters here.
AA DH Game 2 Richmond Flying Squirrels blanked the New Britain Rock Cats 2-0:
Neal, LaTorre and Sromsmoe each had a double. D'Alessio had a triple.
David Mixon- 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's, GO/AO= 12/4. ERA= 2.66.
High A San Jose Giants topped the Stockton Ports 5-1:
Ryan Lormand- 3 for 4, 2 SB(5). BA= .352.
Brandon Belt- 2 for 3, SF, SB(6). BA= .411.
Eric Stolp- 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K's, GO/AO= 8/0. BA= 3.86.
Jason Stoffel- 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K's, Save(5).
Even though he only pitched to one batter with a 4 run lead, Stoffel earned the Save by stranding 3 inherited runners. Belt continues to do it all. Is this Eric Stolp's first professional start?
Low A Asheville tourists dominated the Augusta Greenjackets 8-0:
Brian Salsbury- 2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 3 BB, 1 K. ERA= 6.98.
Chris Gloor- 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.69.
After two great starts, Salsbury has been shelled in his last two. Look for Chris Gloor to get a chance to start before too long.
Here's a thought: Suppose Buster Posey wins the World Series for the Giants with a walk-off HR that hits the LF foul pole. It will be forever known as Posey's Pole! LOL!

And Belt, wow, he could be pressing for a job in two years the way he's hitting.
And I wasn't a Bond believer last year, but he's starting to convince me. The farm system is looking good.
Nice to see Brandon Crawford's name appear in the highlights. I really hope he figures it out with the stick, as the Giants could use his defense at short.
ReplyDeleteYou got any more info on this Hacker kid? Seems to be dealing right now. I haven't seen him on a top prospect lists that I can remember.

Hacker was signed as a minor league FA. He's a journeyman minor leaguer, but could be useful as an emergency starter, if a lot of bad things happen to the Giants pitching. Hopefully, he'll just have a good AAA season and catch on with another team next year.
