Game Wrap 04-23-2010: Giants 4 Cards 1

Tim Lincecum showed why he is the two time Cy Young winner hanging tough in a game where he didn't bring his best stuff. The Giants managed to scratch out some runs in support to help Timmy stop the losing streak. Key lines:

Mark DeRosa 2 for 4. The Giants need DeRosa in the lineup against LHP's!

Nate Schierholtz- 1 for 2, HBP. It may not have been pretty, but it got a run home. Nate is hitting .320 with several squib hits contributing. Still, it's better than not hitting at all!

Tim Lincecum- 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 8 K's. ERA= 1.00. Gutty performance for Tim.

Sergio Romo- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Romo has become a reliable setup man despite giving up the HR to Manny.

Brian Wilson- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00. Wilson seems to have matured into a true dominant closer.

Around the League:

San Diego kept rolling with a 10-4 win over Cincy to stay 1 game ahead of the Giants in the NL West. The Dodgers lost to the Nationals 5-1 to drop 2 games back at 7-9. Arizona is also at 7-9 after topping Philly 7-4. Rockies were rained out and stand at 8-8.
