Brandon Crawford had the Giants only two hits on the night as they were dominated by the pitching of Mike Soroka in another faceplant at the start of a homestand. Key Lines:
Brandon Crawford SS- 2 for 3, HR(3). BA= .212. At least Crawford's bat is showing some signs of life with 2 HR's in his last 5 games. He is 4 for 16 in that span and 3 for 8 over his last 3 games.
Andrew Suarez LHP- 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 4.50. Suarez produces a QS in a losing cause which is a lot better than anyone could have expected after a series of very rough Starts in Sacramento. Does this one buy him another?

The Loss drops the Giants 10 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West and 5 games off the Wild Card pace.

Shaun Anderson makes his second MLB Start tomorrow evening facing veteran Julio Teheran.

The Giants optioned IF Donovan Solano to Sacramento to make room on the roster for Andrew Suarez. The moves gave the Giants 14 pitchers and 11 position players which means they had just 3 position players on the bench for this game. Who's on the bubble now?

The Giants got their PTBNL from the Rays to complete the Eric Kratz trade. The players coming back is RHP Matt Seelinger, a late round draft pick from 2017 by the Pirates. He has been on the Closer track with a Bucs and Rays. He put up strong numbers last year but had struggled this season in a 9 inning sample size. The Giants essentially bought Seelinger from the Rays by agreeing to pay most of Kratz' 2019 salary.

Giants will be on the path when they field a young pitcher like Soroka and a pair of young sluggers like Acuna and Riley. I tip my cap to Braves FO.
