Down on the Farm: 5/29/2019

AAA  Las Vegas Aviators strafed the Sacramento River Cats 7-1:

Austin Slater 1B- 2 for 3, 2B, BB.  BA= .320.
Henry Ramos CF- 2 for 4.  BA= .266.
Tyler Rogers RHP- 2.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, GO/AO= 5/0.  ERA= 2.93.
Ray Black RHP- 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 5.40.

Tyler Beede was supposed to start this game for the River Cats but instead is on his way to Florida to start tomorrow's Giants game against the Marlins.  He is coming off a dominant start so maybe this his finally his breakout MLB game?

AA  Binghampton Rumble Ponies outscored the Richmond Flying Squirrels 9-5:

Jacob Heyward RF- 2 for 4, BB.  BA= .264.
Chris Shaw LF- 1 for 3, BB, SF.  BA= .288.
Zach Houchins 1B- 3 for 4.  BA= .171.
Johneshwy Fargas CF- 2 for 4, 3B.  BA= .235.
Caleb Baragar LHP- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's, GO/AO= 7/3.  ERA= 2.31.

Caleb Baragar started out pitching well for San Jose Giants, then made a spot start for the AAA Sacramento River Cats that didn't go so well but was in Albuquerque.  He then went to Richmond where he has has 4 solid starts in a row.  He is 23 yo and in his 4'th pro season.

A+ San Jose Giants blanked the Lancaster Jethawks 1-0:

Ryder Jones 3B- 2 for 4.  BA= .500.
David Villar DH- 1 for 4, HR(3).  BA= .253.
Jett Manning SS- 2 for 3.  BA= .222.
Aaron Phillips RHP- 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 4.33.
Solomon Bates RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.
Olbis Parra RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, Save(1).  ERA= 3.09.

Aaron Phillips got off to a rough start in the Cal League but has settled down and allowed just 3 ER in 22 IP over his last 4 starts.  Ryder Jones is apparently starting a rehab assignment.

  1. Wow, Just read that Heather Holmes, wife of Giants scouting director Micheal Holmes passed away due to breast cancer. Michael was getting ready to lead the Giants in his 1st major league draft, but this tragic development makes the draft much less important. Deepest condolences to the Holmes family..
