AAA Las Vegas 51's edged the Fresno Grizzlies 9-8 in 10 innings:
Emmanuel Burriss- 3 for 6, 2B, 2 SB(15). BA= .333.
Cody Ross- 1 for 3, 2B, 2 BB, Assist. BA= .500.
Travis Ishikawa- 4 for 5, 2B, SB(2). BA= .250.
Thomas Neal- 2 for 5, 3B, Assist. BA- .286.
Mark Kroon- 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.69.
Burriss continues to look good at the plate and on the bases. He also continues to play multiple positions, 2B tonight. Ross will be called up to the Giants and Belt sent down today. Neal is off the DL and healthy enough to leg out a triple and throw out a runner.
AA Trenton Thunder came from behind to beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 4-2:
Jose Flores- 1 for 4, HR(2). BA= .200.
Roger Kieschnick- 1 for 3, BB, SB(1). BA= .257.
Juan Perez- 2 for 4, 3B. BA= .225.
Ryan Verdugo- 5.1 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 1.74.
Richmond hitters are finding the Eastern League to be as challenging as ever. Solid start by Verdugo who now has a 12/2 K/BB in two starts.
A+ Inland Empire 66'ers topped the San Jose Giants 5-3:
Ryan Cavan 2 for 4, HR(2). BA= .229.
Wendell Fairley- 1 for 2, 2 BB. BA= .359.
Michael Main- 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 4.50.
Not much to see here. Main's K/BB looked better than his results.
Low A West Virginia Power edged the Augusta Greenjackets 6-5:
Carlos Willoughby- 2 for 5, SB(3). BA= .265.
Raynor Campbell- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(1). BA= .182.
Adam Duvall- 2 for 4, 2 2B. BA= .250.
Jake Dunnington- 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 1.13.
Not much to say about this one. The hitters are struggling with Willoughby's .265 the highest BA in the lineup.

couple notes on the fresno game
ReplyDeletefor some reason, decker sent neal to try for an inside the park hr...either that, or neal ran through the stop sign...he was out at the plate
kroon threw a perfect 9th...fell apart in the 10th
seems that alot of people were having probs controlling their pitches...lots of wp in the box score
Was Decker performing 3B coach duties?
ReplyDeleteThey don't have as many coaches in the minors as the majors. I believe it is standard procedure for minor league managers to double as the 3B coach.
