Down on the Farm: DrB's 2011 Giants Top 50 Prospects- Dominican Dandies

Let's wrap up the 2011 top prospect list with a quick look at a few players from the DSL who caught my eye:

Fernando Pujadas C. BD: 1/2/1992. 6'1", 179 lbs. B- R, T-R. DSL: .289/.372/.447, 8 BB, 8 K's in 84 PA. Hit .333 over his last 10 games.

Christian Paulino 3B. BD: 9/4/1991. 5'10", 168 lbs. B-R, T-R. DSL: .251/.327/.340, 19 SB, 6 CS.

Jesus Galindo OF. BD: 8/23/1990. 5'11", 175 lbs. B-S, T-R. DSL: .246/.385/.281, 43 SB, 7 CS. HIt .308 over his last 10 games.

Shurendell "Danny" Mujica SS. BD: NA. 6'1", 158 lbs. B-R, T-R. DSL: .219/.332/.266, 22 SB, 6 CS. Hit .333 with 3 triples over his last 10 games.

Luis Angeles RHP. BD: 12/15/1989. 6'0", 165 lbs. B-R, T-R. DSL: 8-3, 1.85, 77.2 IP, 16 BB, 56 K's. A bit old for a DSL prospect, but has been sighted at the Giants Arizona camp this past fall.

Joan Gregorio RHP. BD: 1/12/1992. 6'7", 180 lbs. B-R, T-R. DSL: 6-3, 2.80, 74 IP, 17 BB, 41 K's, GO/AO= 2.29. The height alone is interesting.

Ariel Hernandez RHP. BD: 3/2/1992. 6'3", 180 lbs. B-R, T-R. DSL: 2-0, 2.01, 31.1 IP, 33 BB, 30 K's. GO/AO= 2.50. I think he got a sizable bonus in 2008. The K/BB is obviously an issue here.

Well, that wraps it up for the 2011 DrB's Giants Top 50 Prospects list. It will be interesting to see how these kids perform and move up the ladder, hopefully to play in San Francisco some day.

  1. LOL

Only you could have 90+ guys on a top 50 list :)

Good work, Doc and thanks for all your hard work on this site. MUCH appreciated.

  2. Yeah, in retrospect, probably a lot of those guys on the Honorable Mention and Dominican Dandies could have been left off, but it was a lot of fun anyway. I woudn't be doing it if it wasn't fun.

  3. I prefer you expand the list rather than contract it. We usually can't get information on prospects in the 40-90's range. Also, in retrospect, would you still leave Brett Pill out of your top 91?

  4. Yeah, I think Brett Pill has reached his ceiling.
