The Giants Weekus Horribilus continued unabated as they go pasted by the KC Royals in an evening game. Key lines:
Pablo Sandoval- 2 for 4. BA= .288. Pablo has cooled off a bit, but I think we'd all be satisfied with a .288 BA at the end of the year. Would like to see a bit more pop.
Miguel Tejada- 2 for 4. BA= .241. Good to see Miggy heating up a bit.
Brandon Belt- 2 for 4. BA= .293. Belt played 1B while Huff played RF in this game.
Madison Bumgarner- 4.1 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 7.17. Bum sailed through the first 3 innings before hitting the wall in the 4'th. Baggs said his velocity was OK. He just started leaving the ball over too much of the plate and maybe his breaking stuff was flattening out. The K/BB is encouraging that this won't carry over.
Santiago Casilla- 0.2 IP, 1 H, 5 R, 4 BB, 1 K. This as obviously a control issue. Again, shouldn't carry over unless he's suddenly gotten Steve Blass Disease.
Marc Kroon- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. I'm becoming more convinced that Kroon needs to make the team, especially if Wilson starts out on the DL.
Speaking of Wilson, he threw again from 75 feet and reportedly felt good. That's good news!
The Giants split the squad tomorrow with Timmy making his final spring start against the Cincinnati Red in Scottsdale and Ryan Vogelsong going against Cleveland in Goodyear.
