Spring Training Game Wrap: BrewCrew 12 Giants 8

Matt Cain pitched 3 shutout innings without any apparent residual arm probles and Jeff Suppan's chances of making the team took a major hit as the Giants lost a ragged game to the BrewCrew 12-8. Key Lines:

Andres Torres- 1 for 3, 3B(2). BA= .379. No signs of a regression yet!

Nate Schierholtz- 1 for 1. BA= .323. Nate making a strong case to be on the team again!

Freddy Sanchez- 1 for 2, 2B, BB. BA= .259. Freddy is rounding into form.

Aubrey Huff- 3 for 3, 2B, HR(2). BA= .333. Another guy who isn't showing any signs of a regression.

Buster Posey- 1 for 2, 2B. BA= .458. And yet another guy who doesn't look like he's regressing!

Pablo Sandoval- 1 for 3, HR(3). BA= .326. Pablo is looking primed for a big bounceback.

Gary Brown- 0 for 1, SB(4). The little we've seen of Brown would make us think he's going to be a good player someday. Got re-assigned to minor league camp today along with 12 other non-roster invitees. 8 forty man roster players got optioned down today also.

Matt Cain- 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. That sound you hear is a lot of Giants and Giants fans breathing a big sigh of relief!

Jeff Suppan- 1 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K's. Remember Suppan gave up 2 dingers in the last inning of his last appearance. I've had a feeling Vogelsong had already moved ahead of him on the depth chart. Gotta wonder how many more chances Suppan has to prove he deserves a spot on the roster.

Brian Wilson- 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 0 K's. ERA= 2.25.

Steve Edlefsen and Marc Kroon each threw a scoreless inning.

The loss drops the Giants spring record to 14-5. Madison Bumgarner takes the mound against the D'Backs in an evening game
