ReplyDeleteThis is disappointing for me, not that Mac is being sent down or that Slater is being called up, but Mac looked like he was right there on the launching pad of his career before the concussion. Timing is everything and the line between an All-star and a AAAA player is a hair wide. Hopefully Mac can get his timing back and will get another chance down the road. I still think he is the one guy in the organization who has a chance to hit 30-40 dingers in a season, well, except maybe Brandon Belt, another guy who has had trouble staying healthy for a full season.
ReplyDeleteIt might be that Mac had his red hot bat going while playing every day in Sac - maybe he can recapture it if he starts every day in AAA. Now Slater will have to give up the everyday ABs, hope he can stay hot himself...
