The Giants were never in this one as Matt Cain gave up a 4-spot in the 2'nd inning and more later in his start. Key Lines:
Brandon Crawford SS- 1 for 3, HR(3), BB. BA= .274.
Eduardo Nunez LF- 1 for 4, HR(2). BA= .272. Crawford and Nunez hit B2B dingers in the 8'th inning to make the final score closer than it should have been.
Matt Cain RHP- 5.1 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 3 BB, 1 K. ERA= 4.91. Gone are the days when Cain can get by without his best stuff. He just doesn't have the velocity to muscle hitters into submission like he used to.

Giants are 19-26 .422
ReplyDeleteIf they go 26-19 .578 they'll be .500 at ASG.
Dodgrs are 26-19 today, so that can't be too hard!
Still a good goal, but it's always one day at a time, sometimes 13 days in a row!
162-game season is, essentially, 182 days of play, 20 days off in 26 weeks!
What a grind!
This week's matchups with Cubs are not terrible, just remember 2016 when it almost went 5 with Bumgarner for the series win.
Now we got Melacon! And the same 4 starters but they don't! SWEEP!
