Down on the Farm: 5/6/2017

AAA  Sacramento edged out the Reno Aces 3-2:

Jae-Gyun Hwang 3B- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .314.
Tyler Beede RHP- 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 3.38.
Kyle Crick RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, Save(2).  ERA= 4.76.

Hwang has a 7 game hit streak with 5 2-hit games in that span.  He is hitting .341 over his last 10 games.  He's playing mostly 3B, but Arroyo seems to be the Giants 3B of the future.  Beede continues to pitch well, but not quite as dominant as you would like to see from a future ace.  The River Cats apparently trust Cricky enough to put him in a 1-run Save situation.  He delivered.

AA  Bowie Baysox blanked the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-0:

Chris Shaw LF- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .306.

Shaw is a bright spot in AA.

High A Stockton Ports smashed the San Jose Giants 13-2:

Aramis Garcia 1B- 1 for 4, HR(6).  BA= .350.

Garcia is leading the Giants minor leaguers in dingers.

Greenville Drive outlasted the Augusta Greenjackets 3-2 in 12 innings:

Ashford Fulmer CF- 1 for 4, 2 BB.  BA= .267.
Frandy De La Rosa 1B- 1 for 4, HR(2), BB.  BA= .241.
Jacob Heyward LF- 3 for 5, HR(3).  BA= .205.
Caleb Baragar LHP- 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 9 K's.  ERA= 2.81.
Nolan Riggs RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 4.02.

Heyward's bat seems to be coming to life.  This was Baragar's longest start as a pro with the most K's.  he had 8 K's in 5 IP, in one start for the Arizona Giants last year.
