  1. I'd really like to see Thomlinson and Slater come up. Don't know what to make of the possibility of bringing Hwang up since they're not sending Arroy down despite his slump.

And Shaw... I'm confused to the LF assignment. Everything I've read says he doesn't have OF range. I mean MLB.COM gives him a 20 in running... It doesn't get any lower than that.

What has happened to Slania? THey're hitting .330 off him in AAA and he's giving up nearly a run-and-inning. We're 43 runs in 45 innings. That's not just a bad outing in the third game of April skewing him up...

  2. OK, San Jose is High A (or Advanced), but does Augusta have to be LOW A? How 'bout just Class A?
I think the thing with Shaw in LF is to see how bad it can be? Maybe like Mike Morse in 2014? That was OK, wasn't it?
Well, if not OK, it worked.
I'm thinking the Giants have recognized how desperate the OF situation is. Not desperate, it's abysmal! Is Pence really coming back? How much help is a .243/.289/.338 slash? Can Mac do it? Or Parker, who will be back sometime? Slater (24) is new and young, what kind of splash can the Giants expect? Heathcott (26) is a little older and has some ML creds, but is scuffling somewhat at Augusta. Tomlinson has had some good major league BA and OBP numbers but can he play an acceptable CF - or is he another powerless LFer with a good arm? That might be enough, one is better than none, but watching Núñez isn't good.
Calixte may be the best bet, maybe has some pop, too?
Giants HAVE to do something in the OF, even without Bumgarner and Smith, the pitching is hanging in and the IF/C is great -- starters and B/Us, fix the OF, there's nothing out there to be happy about.
